Folding

I saw this on Penny Arcade and I thought it was cool. It's distributed computing. It takes your computer's processor and uses it to work on problems, essentially using computers across the internet to create a vast supercomputer. Link. Seems pretty cool. This particular one is working on protein folding, for medical research.
